Division

I love Charles Spurgeon Devotionals.  They are very insightful.  Here's another one for you to chew on while you go about your day.  Thoughts are in blue.

Maintain the Difference

And I will put a division between My people and thy people: tomorrow shall this sign be
Exodus 8:23

Pharaoh has a people, and the LORD has a people. These may dwell together and seem to fare alike, but there is a division between them, and the LORD will make it apparent. Pharaoh literally.....for that verse of scripture.  But Satan also has a people (the unsaved) and the LORD has a people (the children of God).

Not forever shall one event happen alike to all, but there shall be great difference between the men of the world and the people of Jehovah's choice.  Let me rephrase that.....there will be distinct differences between a child of The Most High God of Israel and those dominated by Satan and his minions.  If a person is a true child of God, others will HAVE NO DOUBT!

This may happen in the time of judgments, when the LORD becomes the sanctuary of His saints. It is very conspicuous in the conversion of believers when their sin is put away, while unbelievers remain under condemnation.

From that moment they become a distinct race, come under a new discipline, and enjoy new blessings.  From the moment of conversion!  Children of the Most High......we are set apart....different.  Bask in the blessings of God.

Their homes, henceforth, are free from the grievous swarms of evils which defile and torment the Egyptians. They are kept from the pollution of lust, the bite of care, the corruption of falsehood, and the cruel torment of hatred, which devour many families.  We are not spared trials dear friends.  But we are spared the bondage....the entrapment....the snares of sin that holds the world captive.  WE ARE TRULY A FREE PEOPLE....if we are the Children of the Most High God of Israel.

Rest assured, tried believer, that though you have your troubles you are saved from swarms of worse ones, which infest the homes and hearts of the servants of the world's prince. Can I get an AMEN?!  Again....we are not immune from trials.  But we ARE protected from those that would only infect the children of the world.  PRAISE THE LORD!!!

The LORD has put a division; see to it that you keep up the division in Spirit, aim, character, and company.  See to it CLOSELY!!!  And notice the specificity of the division.  In SPIRIT!!  In AIM!!  In CHARACTER!!  And in COMPANY!!   All of these play vital roles in the division.

I've always told my daughter to be careful who her friends are.  Your worldly friends will only bring you down to their level.  That has been proven time and time again.  She had to learn the hard way.  She has learned!!

What is your aim or goal in life?   There will also be a distinct difference there as well.  Do you seek fame.....fortune.....the almighty dollar.....popularity, etc.  I know some young people who are more concerned about being famous 'one day' and making it big than they are for the souls of those they are supposed to be ministering to.  And I know others who have no aim or goals at all.  Again.....my daughter had to learn the hard way about who to have as 'company'.  She has learned.  She is so very focused on God now.  IT'S SIMPLY AMAZING WHAT SHE IS ACCOMPLISHING AND WILL CONTINUE TO ACCOMPLISH!!  God has BIG things in store for her.....as long as she follows the Holy Spirit's guidance.  As long as her aims are God-focused.

Character.  What does your character or reputation say about the kind of person you are?  I, again, have always cautioned by daughter to protect her reputation.....her character....with everything she had in her.  She values her reputation.  Protects it like one would a fragile rose.  I am thankful she considers that of utmost importance in her walk with the Most High God of Israel.  I know some that don't give their character a second thought.....and they claim to be Christian.  And what's worse, they are out there TRYING TO MINISTER TO OTHERS!!  That should not be so.

How you treat others SPEAKS VOLUMES as to your character.  I know some character-less people.  Some adults....some young adults.  Your characterlessness JUST AIN'T GONNA WASH WITH GOD!!

What is your character blabbing about you?  Does it meet God's approval?  Or does it meet man's (Satan's)?

Christians.....we are DIFFERENT!!!  LET'S ACT LIKE IT!!!

Wonderful thoughts to ponder as we go about our daily activities.  SMILE!!  God is GOOD!!
