Gleaning From God's Word

Things I gleaned from my Bible Study this morning. Again...my thoughts will be in blue.

2 Chronicles 15:7 ~ Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

I sent this verse of scripture to my daughter this morning...3 times (phone glitch).  Sometimes it seems we are getting no-where in our work for God's Kingdom.  But this verse just adds fuel to my faith.  Keep being STRONG....the rewards will come.

2 Chronicles 14:11 ~ And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

I like Asa!  He had some FAITH!!  You don't hear much about him in the Bible....but he was one of the GOOD kings in the OT.

When things got tough, he did the only thing he COULD do....which should be the FIRST thing we ALWAYS do......he cried unto the LORD.  If we all would go to God FIRST...instead of our usual "calling on him as a last resort", I'd be willing to bet (IF I was a bettin' Mamma) that things in our lives would go a whole heap better than they do now.

Asa got it right!  It IS nothing for the LORD to help.  All power, in heaven and earth, is at His beck and call.  It's at His fingertips.  All He has to do is SPEAK!!  WHO ELSE would you want on your side?

But, there is a catch.  Yeah, I know....everything has a 'catch'.  But this one is so simple....yet so many make it so hard.  I'll even admit, it's hard for me sometimes (depending on the situation).  Here's the catch.....we gotta have FAITH!!

Yep!  Told ya.  It's simple....but not that easy, is it?  Sure faith is easy when everything is going right in your life....I've been there.  But, it's when things get difficult, or problems arise, that faith get's a WEE BIT more difficult....I've been there too.

Asa knew who to call when things got a bit difficult.  He knew who had the POWER!  We know who to call....and who holds all power in heaven and earth.  So WHY, do we make it so hard on ourselves by using the LORD as a 'last resort'.

Just something to chew on for a while.

Excerpts taken from "Our Daily Walk" for October 21, 2010

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.

TRUE CHRISTIANITY is very different from much that we see around us.  I could probably write a book on this.  It's something you could say I 'harp' on....quiet a bit.  TRUE Christianity IS NOT the 'church'ianity that we all see today.  Ooh...a new word...churchianity.  The 'church' of today, is NOT the church of the Bible. (You'll have to read previous blogs on difference between 'church' and church.)  Keep reading.

If TRUE Christianity is anything, it is self-giving....even to death.  I don't know of too many in churchianity that would be THAT giving.....even to death?  Yeah right!  The 'church' has it's own agenda.  And 'laying down their life for a friend' is not on that agenda.  In today's world, maybe having to DIE is a bit extreme.  But there are millions of ways that the 'church' can be 'self-giving'.....if they just would.  When they cease having churchianity, and turn back once again to having TRUE CHRISTIANITY, things will change in the world....and FOR the world.

Key word here....self-giving.

If Christianity means ANYTHING, we must renounce self as the center of our life and be willing to sacrifice ourselves for others.  As long as we are playing 'church', self will always be in the way.  It's only after the 'church' turns it's heart back to the God of the Israelites, that TRUE CHRISTIANITY will take hold and remove self from the equation.  ONLY then, can things change...for the better.

But that also goes back to the fact that satan has blinders on the 'church'.  And it must be stuck on with 'super-glue' because those blinders ain't coming off.  The 'church' is blind.  Even the leaders and heads of the 'church' are blind.  Oh GOD!!!  Why can't they SEE??!!

Nothing will save the world, which is cursed with the spirit of selfishness.  I like this statement. It's true.  How can the world POSSIBLY be saved when the 'church' has become so selfish?

The world is doomed because TRUE CHRISTIANITY has been replaced with churchianity.  And the 'church', I think, is even MORE selfish than the world is.  The 'church' is cursed because of selfishness......and the world is doomed because of it.  It's a lose lose situation, I guess.

Selfishness is destructive.  Statement speaks for itself.

We must be sure that the SUPREME THOUGHT of every word and act must be Christ who died and rose again.  When the 'church' ceases from selfishness and turns back to TRUE CHRISTIANITY, then...and ONLY then.....can we be assured that our SUPREME THOUGHT of every word and act be CHRIST who died and rose again.

This should be our prayer:  that the

 LORD will forgive what I HAVE BEEN;

sanctify what I AM;

and order what I SHALL BE.
